I would be ashamed

If I were to die this very moment,
What would I have to offer?
A few good deeds and moments of love...
as well as more sin and shame than I, myself can ever face and bare...
How would I stand in the presence of an all-mighty God and even hope
for His endless mercy and grace?
What would I say if asked the question:
"What have you done in your life that you can be proud of?"
I would be ashamed with my answer.

If I were asked to give a reason to let my life continue,
What could I say?
I would certainly not be able to give an impressive list
of people I have touched and changed,
nor a lengthy list of my acts of service and love...
No, I am unworthy of His grace...
I would be ashamed of my answer.

"For only by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of
yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast."
